Free Composition: Overcoming fear in stage
The day had finally arrived. I had been practicing for months, and it was time for my first public performance playing the piano on stage. As I walked towards the stage, my heart was pounding, and my palms were sweaty. I took a deep breath, closed my eyes, and visualized myself playing flawlessly.
When I opened my eyes, I was standing on the stage in front of a packed audience. The lights were shining bright, and I could feel the heat radiating from them. I took my seat at the grand piano, closed my eyes once more, and began to play.
As I started to play, my nerves began to fade away, and I lost myself in the music. The sound of the keys resonated throughout the auditorium, and I could feel the audience's attention on me. I played each note with precision, and as the song progressed, I became more and more confident.
As I approached the final section of the piece, my fingers danced across the keys with ease. I could feel the energy in the room, and I knew that I was playing my best. When I hit the final chord, the audience erupted in applause.
I stood up from the piano, took a bow, and walked off the stage. My heart was racing, and I was filled with an overwhelming sense of accomplishment. All of the hard work, practice, and dedication had paid off. I had conquered my fear of playing piano on stage, and I had done it with flying colors.
As I reflect on that day, I realise that performing on stage isn't just about playing the right notes at the right time. It's about connecting with the audience, expressing emotions through music, and creating a memorable experience. The piano may be just an instrument, but when played with passion and purpose, it has the power to move people.
However, I learned that with hard work and dedication, I could overcome my fear and share my love of music with others. Playing the piano on stage taught me that it's not just about the music, but also about connecting with the audience and creating a memorable experience. I am grateful for this opportunity and look forward to many more performances in the future.
